This is Why My Wife is Awesome

As all of you know, I have been on a Mass Effect kick lately. The gift my wife got me for our anniversary arrived today, and she left the package at work at the end of the day to bring it home. She also gave me explicit instructions not to open it without her.

I don't know exactly why, but I began to wish that I could have gotten an N7 hoodie. For those of you not in the know, the main character in Mass Effect, Commander Shepard, wears N7 armor, and Bioware made a very clever tie-in of a hoodie with the same color scheme as Shepard's armor. The thing is, I knew there was no way my wife would know that I had somehow developed an intense longing for this one thing, and I prepared myself on the way home to hide my inevitable disappointment.

But first, I checked the box to see if it was from Bioware. No such luck; I didn't recognize the company at all.

I got home and my lady could barely contain her excitement as I brought my bike in. She insisted that I open the package immediately, and she was clearly very pleased with what she had gotten me.

As well she should be.

Scroll down a bit to see what she got me.

It was not only an N7 hoodie, but also a lithograph (and a very classy one at that) of one of my favorite characters, Tali.

You know how, when you're a child, you don't really know what you expect your Christmas presents to be, but you always build them up to an impossible level where, no matter what's in the box, you're going to be disappointed? Well, this felt like the redemption of all of those moments.

Thank you, dear. I love you.

PS: Not only is this a very awesome gift, but it absolutely comes in handy, too, because I've been wearing the same gross sweater every day all winter, and I most definitely needed more cold weather garb.

Tali has a good hip to waist ratio.
